From a humble start, where she didn't see herself as an outstanding student, to becoming a prominent science communicator, engineer, and television host, this Morgantown native's story shows the power of persistence and passion. Her involvement in programs like Xploration Outer Space and Emily’s Wonder Lab has made science more accessible to a wider audience, especially children. She’s also shown how to balance both technical expertise (with degrees from MIT) and media presence.
Her role in encouraging young girls to explore STEM fields, especially through her books like the Ada Lace Adventures, and her collaboration with educational programs in West Virginia is remarkable. And of course, her historic achievement of becoming the 100th woman in space with Blue Origin in 2024 is the icing on the cake!
