A. P. Donaghho was a potter and businessman born in 1829 in Pennsylvania. He moved to Parkersburg and started his pottery business there in 1874. Donaghho used a potter’s wheel and made salt-glazed stoneware with cobalt blue designs. His pots often had handles and were marked with his name or business. They were dried, decorated, and fired in a special kiln to harden and glaze them. His handmade pottery, including crocks, jugs, and canning jars, is still widely collected today.
