Eric Waggoner became the executive director of the West Virginia Humanities Council in October 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in American Literature from Arizona State University, and was a literature and writing teacher for 23 years prior to arriving at the Council. His literary criticism, creative nonfiction, and music journalism and interviews have appeared in hundreds of serial and book publications over a 30-year writing career.
