Kenneth T. Batty was born in Philadelphia and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in meteorology from Penn State. He was a National Weather Service forecaster at Charleston. He began his career during the cold winter of 1976-77 and retired in 2016. He still resides in his adopted West Virginia.
